A question? We answer

Short, verifiable, straight answers

Lecy is an NFC-tag loyalty solution, with no app and no customer account. This page gathers the questions shopkeepers ask before getting started, in the order they ask them: deploying, what the customer does, security, Google reviews, the programme, data, the price.

Deploying Lecy

What is Lecy?

Lecy is an NFC-tag loyalty solution for physical shops. The customer holds their phone to the tag at the till, opens the link, and earns a point for their visit: no app, no card, no typing, no till integration. They stay anonymous if they wish. To our knowledge it is the simplest loyalty solution there is, because there is nothing to do: not to deploy, not for the team, not for the customer.

What do I need to install to deploy Lecy?

Nothing. You define your programme in the back office (threshold, reward, colours), you receive the tag already linked to your shop, you place it at the till. It is live. No software, no hardware to plug in, no technical intervention.

How long does set-up take?

Two minutes of configuration, plus the time to receive the tag, a few days. The day the tag is placed, the programme works. For a network, every point of sale is live the day its tag arrives.

Does Lecy need to connect to my till?

No, and that is the whole point. Lecy touches neither the till software nor the payment terminal: it works with any till, and even without one. The absence of integration is what makes it possible to deploy by placing a tag, in one shop or a hundred.

Do I need a screen, a tablet or wifi?

No. The tag is passive: no battery, no cable, no wifi, no screen. It is powered by the phone’s field at the moment of reading, never needs updating and never breaks down.

Does my team have to do anything?

Never. Staff do not award points, validate anything, stamp anything, ask for reviews, or receive any training. Loyalty runs on its own, at set-up and in daily use, even at peak time.

What the customer does

What does the customer do to earn a point?

They hold their phone to the tag, the gesture they already make to pay, and open the link that appears. One second. Their point is added, and they see what is left before the reward.

Is an app required?

No. The tag opens a web page directly in the phone’s browser. There is nothing to download, nothing that stays installed.

Do they have to add a card to their wallet or type a number?

No. No card to add, find or present; no number to type on a tablet. The customer has nothing to carry and nothing to type.

What happens the first time?

On the first tap, and only the first, the customer confirms with Face ID or fingerprint, their phone’s own security standard. One second, once. That creates their Lecy access key, with no account and no personal data. On the following visits, the point is added automatically.

Does the customer have to sign up again in every shop?

No. The Lecy access key is created once and works in every equipped shop. Like Apple Pay: you are not a member of it, you have a key that works everywhere. Points, however, belong to each shop: your points at your shop, in your programme, in your colours.

Does it work on iPhone?

Yes, natively since the iPhone XS: NFC is always on and the page is offered without any setting. On Android, NFC is on by default on the vast majority of devices sold in Europe.

What does the customer see when they open the link?

A page in your shop’s colours: their points, what is left before the reward and, depending on your plan, a question about how it went, your news, and links to your social networks or online shop.

What if a customer’s phone does not read the tag?

You add the point manually from your dashboard, in a few seconds. It is rare: over 95% of smartphones support NFC.

Security and cheating

What is NFC proof of presence?

Every scan of the tag generates a unique, encrypted, short-lived link, like a QR code that changed every time. The point is only awarded if the phone was physically in front of the tag, in the shop, at that moment. A copied or shared link is worthless: it is tamper-proof proof of presence.

What is the difference between the Lecy tag and a QR code?

A QR code is a fixed image: it can be photographed, shared, printed, and gives points from anywhere. The Lecy tag produces a different link at every scan, valid once: you have to be in front of the tag. A classic NFC tag has the same limit as a QR code, it carries a fixed address.

Can customers cheat by scanning several times?

No. A link that has been used is worthless, and a minimum delay separates two points, three hours by default, adjustable. A visit only counts once.

Can a customer share the link so someone else earns a point?

No. The link is only valid for the scan that produced it, and it is consumed when opened. Passed on, it awards nothing.

Can a member of staff add points?

Not in normal operation: the point comes from the customer’s phone on the tag, not from a staff gesture. That is what closes the door on the friendly stamp. Manual awarding exists for exceptions (an event, a phone that does not read the tag) and it is logged in the back office.

Google reviews

How does Lecy generate Google reviews?

After their point, the customer is invited to say how it went, at a moment when they are satisfied. Mixed, it reaches you privately and is not published: you put it right. Positive, the customer is invited to post it on Google, with a bonus point. You get recent, regular reviews, at the right moment, without a sign that begs.

Are negative reviews published on Google?

No. Negative or mixed feedback lands in your back office, and it stops there: nothing is published, on Google or anywhere else. You learn what went wrong and fix it, often the same day. The customer remains free to write whatever they want on Google; Lecy simply does not push people who have just expressed a reservation towards it.

When is the feedback asked for?

At two chosen moments, on the page the customer opens after their point: when they check how many visits are left before their gift, and just after getting their reward, if they have not left a review yet. In both cases the customer is happy; that is what changes everything compared with the sign at the till.

Is the bonus point the same as buying reviews?

No. The point rewards the act of leaving a review, not its content: the customer writes what they want, on Google, under their own name. What changes is the sorting upstream: only customers who have just said they were satisfied are invited to Google. Recent, regular reviews count for your Google profile, your local ranking and the recommendations of AI assistants.

Your programme and your rewards

What can be configured in the back office?

The number of visits that unlocks the reward, the reward itself, the validity of points, the minimum delay between two points, the way the reward is unlocked, and the design of the customer page: logo, colours, typography. Everything can be changed at any time; points already earned are kept.

How does the customer unlock their reward?

In one of the three ways you choose: by showing the team a short unlocking video on their phone, by presenting their screen showing the threshold reached, or by receiving a promo code by text. The text code also works on your online shop or marketplace: the point of sale becomes a door to your online channel.

When a reward is unlocked, are the points deducted?

Yes, automatically, and the counter starts again. You can also set a validity period: after it, unused points expire. Or never let them expire.

Can a customer earn several points on the same day?

That depends on your setting. You set a minimum delay between two points, three hours by default. Before that delay has passed, another visit does not add a point.

Does the amount spent affect the number of points?

No: Lecy rewards the visit, not the amount. One visit, one point, whatever the basket. That is what makes till integration unnecessary, and it is fairer to the regular customer. For a shop where the basket varies enormously from one visit to the next, Lecy is not the right tool, and we say so.

Is the programme in my brand’s colours?

Yes. The page the customer opens carries your logo, your colours and your typography. The customer sees “your points at your shop”, never “Lecy points”. The Lecy name only appears on the access key, because it is universal.

What else can I do besides giving points?

From the Pro plan, the page the customer opens at every scan can collect their feedback privately, invite them to post a Google review, showcase your social networks and your online shop, and announce your news. No message is sent to anyone who has not asked for it.

Networks and franchises

What if I have several shops?

One account brings all your sites together, with tracking per point of sale: visits, active customers, rewards, feedback. The programme and the design are those of the brand, defined once for every site. You decide whether points are shared across the network or tied to one point of sale.

Why is Lecy easy to deploy across a network?

Because deploying means placing a tag. No screen to add, no hardware to plug in, no till software integration, no training. For ten or a hundred shops, it is a logistics operation, not an IT project. A chain of 130 shops rolled out this way without training a single team.

What does a network’s head office see?

A dashboard per site, in real time, built on measured visits rather than declared ones: every point comes from a phone in front of that site’s tag. It compares shops with each other on real data, with no data entry by the teams.

I already have an app or a loyalty programme. What is Lecy for?

For building loyalty with the customers who will never download your app, which is to say most of your in-store customers. Lecy does not replace your programme, it adds a frictionless layer for everyone else.

Data and GDPR

Does Lecy collect personal data?

By default, none: no name, no email, no phone number. Points are tied to the phone’s access key, not to an identity. The customer can stay completely anonymous; they only leave their number if they want to receive a promo code or your news.

Does Lecy send marketing texts to my customers?

Only to those who asked for them. The customer only shares their number if they explicitly choose to receive your news and offers, a consent that is never pre-ticked and can be withdrawn at any time. Loyalty is the product; marketing is only an option.

Is Lecy GDPR compliant?

Yes. No data is sold, and the access key created on the first tap serves only to tie points to the customer’s phone, with no account and no personal data. The details are in the privacy policy.

Price and commitment

How much does it cost?

From €35 a month per point of sale, NFC tag included, no commitment. The yearly rate works out at two months free. For a network, the price per site decreases with the number of points of sale, on quote. There are no integration or training fees, because there is no integration and no training.

Can I cancel?

Yes. No commitment, cancel at any time. Cancellation is done from your account and takes effect at the end of the current period.

Which businesses is Lecy made for?

Those people come back to often with a steady basket: coffee shops, bakeries, restaurants, gyms, hairdressers, beauty salons, wine shops, dry cleaners. And networks that want identical loyalty in every point of sale. Less so for shops where the basket varies enormously from one visit to the next.

How is Lecy different from other loyalty solutions?

There is nothing to do, at any step. To deploy: place the tag. For the team: nothing, nobody awards or validates a point. For the customer: hold up a phone and open the link, no typing, no app, no card, no wallet, and they stay anonymous. Anonymous solutions rely on a card or a gesture from the team; cardless solutions require a phone number or an email. To our knowledge, Lecy is the only one to combine all four, thanks to proof of presence: an encrypted link that changes at every scan.
